Sweet and Spicy Cinnamon Elixir

A cozy, warming drink for the colder months — cinnamon and apple blended into a creamy, spiced elixir with a hit of apple cider vinegar for balance. Make a mug, curl up by the fire, and let it warm you from the inside out.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups strong red rooibos tea hot
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk or cashew milk
  • 2 cinnamon sticks plus 2 more for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maca optional
  • 1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 small sweet apple chopped
  • 1 tablespoon collagen optional
  • Liquid stevia (about 5 drops) or raw honey, to taste

Method
 

  1. Steep tea 5–10 minutes.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently simmer the milk, snapped cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon, and maca (if using) for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the cinnamon sticks and blend the simmered milk with chopped apple, apple cider vinegar, and collagen (if using) until smooth.
  4. Stir into the brewed tea and sweeten to taste. Top with sliced apple and an extra cinnamon stick, if desired.

Notes

Serves 1 large mug or 2 small.
