10 Tips for Better Digestion

Having a healthy digestive system is key to good health. Before rushing to the doctor or drugstore for medicines that may alleviate discomfort but don’t actually address the underlying cause, try making these lifestyle changes and see if anything changes.

1. EXERCISE to tone muscles that support the digestive system.

2. DON’T OVEREAT, which taxes the digestive system. Eat until three-quarters full.

3. Take time for GRATITUDE before each meal to help stimulate digestion.

4. Reduce or ELIMINATE PROCESSED FOODS that rob the body of nutrients.

5. SLOW down and CHEW your food thoroughly. Saliva contains enzymes that aid digestion.

6. Eat more FIBER-rich foods such as legumes which absorb toxins and hasten elimination.

7. BOOST STOMACH ACID by adding freshly squeezed lemon juice or raw fermented apple cider vinegar to your water each morning.

8. DRINK more WATER.

9. Incorporate PROBIOTICS into your diet through fermented foods such as sauerkraut or kefir.

10. Bring in DIGESTIVE ENZYMES found in live, raw, or sprouted foods.
